PhD Students

Hi! I'm Yash
I'm curious about understanding molecular, cellular, and organismal regulation. I have a background in biotechnology from Jaihind College and The Institute of Science, Mumbai.
For my project, I'll focus on the fascinating discipline of interorgan communication in wound healing from a broader perspective.
When not in the lab, I enjoy contemplating life's big questions, listening to music, reading books, and sipping on a cup of tea. I'm an artist at heart and a scientist by choice, always looking for inspiration and new perspectives.

Hi! I'm Soumyadip
With a background in Molecular Biology from Visva-Bharati University, West Bengal, I have a profound interest in evolutionary biology, genetics, and the development of complex traits. My specific focus lies in RNA-Protein and Protein-Protein interactions and their regulatory role in immune systems.
My research here will center on exploring the significance of water-channel proteins in Drosophila immunity.

Beyond the lab, I am an avid fan of science fiction novels, and love doing digital illutration.

Hi! I'm Janani
I hold a B.Sc.(Hons) in Biomedical Sciences from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research. Currently, I'm pursuing Masters in Stem Cell Technology and Regenerative Medicine at MIRM, MAHE, Bengaluru. My research focuses on the effects of injury on immunity in Drosophila, exploring immune cells and key pathways post-thoracic injury. I'm passionate about neurological disease modeling, oncology diagnostics, and treatments. Outside the lab, I enjoy dancing, art, and sports.

Hi! I'm Janvi
I earned my BTech in Biotechnology from Sir. M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology and I am now pursuing an MSc in Stem Cell Technology and Regenerative Medicine.
My research dives into the role of metallophosphodiesterase in Drosophila hematopoiesis and immunity and characterizing water channel proteins in Drosophila. I’m passionate about cancer cell biology.
Outside the lab, I love expressing myself through dance, singing, and sketching!

Hi! I'm Vivek
I'm a Masters student in Stem Cell Technology and Regenerative Biology. I have done my bachelor's in biomedical sciences. My current project explores the expression pattern of aquaporins in Drosophila melanogaster, focusing on hemocytes and their larger role in immune response. With a background in mammalian cell culture and experience working with organoid models, my research interests span stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, and immunology. I'm particularly drawn to using Drosophila as a powerful tool to unravel the complexities of human disease and to identify novel therapeutic targets. Outside the lab, I love to play cricket and click photos of nature.

Hi! I'm Deepak
I'm a masters student in Translational Immunology. My project explores the role of Guanylyl Cyclase C, a fly receptor, in modulating gut immune responses to oral infections using Drosophila as a model organism. With a background in Biotechnology, I'm passionate about understanding the intricacies of immune responses and their translational potential. Outside the lab, I unwind by listening to blues music, reading comics, and watching movies.
